Voices of Our Education

D.H. Lawrences idea of voices of our education has a broader meaning than one efficiency think. It comes from society, from the outside world. These voices ar only helpful if one listens, and with texts such as ophidian Brave New military personnel and Rime of The Ancient Mariner these voices will be well studied to reveal how they shape our decision making.

In the poem Snake by D.H. Lawrence, a male child kills a snake only when moments after he admires it. By doing so, he shows that these voices influenced him to commit such an act, which he later regrets. At the beginning of the poem the son now a man goes out to get his water, maculation moments before he arrived at the water a fair snake was there drinking its fill. The boy wrestled with his voices of his education sagacious that he would be able to prove his manhood by killing the creature. So with these voices in his head he wan the decision to kill the snake and he picked up a clumsy log and threw it at the water-trough with a clatter As the boy killed the snake he felt an immediate melancholy come over him. Even years later the boy in the story now a man unperturbed regrets that days decisions.

In an otherwise piece of literature such as Brave New World written by Aldous Huxley the stories characters deal with similar dilemmas.
